Have you seen the new Pepsi White Cola? It’s a new drink exclusive to Japan and I think it’s pretty neat. I finally caved and bought a bottle the other day at the grocery store.
You know, I always wondered why Japan got all these exclusive wacky flavors of stuff. When it comes to soda, you would think that companies would experiment in the USA because there are way more consumers of cola drinks than in Japan. That’s not the case!

I’ve been waiting a long time for a true story continuation of the Star Wars trilogy. When George Lucas announced the prequels, I was less than enthused because I simply wasn’t interested in what happened BEFORE we met characters such as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, etc.
Episode I came out in 1998 and I went to see it of course. I was excited that a new Star Wars movie was being released and I wanted to relive the magic of the original trilogy. After struggling to get through the prequel trilogy over the years, I grew disgusted at how tarnished the Star Wars brand had become.
Do I hate living in Japan? No, because I could be somewhere much much worse. However, no country is all rainbows and magical sunshine. I first played the Batman Arkham series starting with Asylum on PC. From there, I played the second game Batman Arkham City on the PS3. It was with great expectations that I bought Batman Arkham Knight for the PS4. My feeling about this game is with mixed emotions and I’ll explain why.
Time for something tech-related with this Opera Mini review. It is my new favorite browser for iOS. It has a really nice design with quite a lot of handy features. I recently switched from my previous Japanese cell phone provider to a cheaper MVNO. This is great for wallet, but I do have data caps when I am not using Wi-fi. One solution to this is using the Opera Mini browser.
In this Game Dev Story review, I get to gush about one of my favorite mobile games I’ve ever played. My dream has always been to be a game developer. I’m never going to be a game developer, but with Game Dev Story, I can pretend I’m a gaming company on the road to glory. Game Dev Story is a mobile game for both iOS and Android devices. It’s from Kairosoft, a small game studio in Japan that started making games for PCs in the 90s.
Time for some Final Fantasy VII Remake discussion and my opinion on how things are shaping up. There has been news about how the game will be different from the original. This is not the same old Final Fantasy VII that we know and that could be a good thing for everyone. See why I think this new direction is the way to go for Square Enix moving forward.
It’s Netflix Japan vs Hulu Japan!
I’ve been using online video services in Japan since 2014. With the recent launch of Netflix Japan, I wanted to compare the two services and note the differences as well as the pros/cons. Which one should you consider using? (If you want to pay for a streaming service in Japan, that is)
2019 Update: Hulu Japan and Netflix Japan have changed drastically over the years. Long story short, Netflix is the better option with more content than Hulu Japan. Amazon Prime now has HBO content which is another blow to Hulu.
