I remember trying to search and download movie posters way back in the day and not having much luck finding proper quality sizes. The sites I found always ended up having tiny images or wanting you to buy the posters themselves. With the recent launch of their website, The Poster Database contains high quality original and official movie posters. Let’s see what it has to offer.
People around the world are most likely familiar with Japanese animation and know that it comes from Japan. Some people are really into it and others are not. Regardless, it has spread all over the world. However, let’s take a moment to think about the reverse. What about American animation in Japan? What shows are available and what do people like? You might be surprised by the results.
I just got back from watching Batman VS Superman. I had been anxiously awaiting this movie ever since it was first announced a few years ago. After all the waiting, I finally saw it. I got to see two legendary superheroes together in one movie on the big screen. How did it turn out? This is my Batman VS Superman review. Spoiler-free review!
The Speed Racer anime is special to me. It was one of the first Japanese animated shows that I ever watched. It was appealing because the art style and story telling were different from American cartoons.
Speed Racer was one of the first TV shows that sparked my interest in Japanese animation and eventually the country itself. It’s also one of my guilty pleasures.
I went and saw Star Wars the Force Awakens last night at a theater. This is my Star Wars The Force Awakens review with NO spoilers.
I’ve been waiting a long time for a true story continuation of the Star Wars trilogy. When George Lucas announced the prequels, I was less than enthused because I simply wasn’t interested in what happened BEFORE we met characters such as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, etc.
Episode I came out in 1998 and I went to see it of course. I was excited that a new Star Wars movie was being released and I wanted to relive the magic of the original trilogy. After struggling to get through the prequel trilogy over the years, I grew disgusted at how tarnished the Star Wars brand had become.
I happened to see the movie The Age of Adaline the other day and ended up over thinking the movie more than I wanted to. The story sounds pretty cool. A woman that never ages. There are so many directions you can go with that story, so how did this movie do? My friends and I debated a lot through this movie about what we would do if we were the characters.
There are so many new releases of anime that come and go every year, that it’s easy to miss the gems. I thought about the various shows I’ve watched in the past two years and which ones I enjoyed the most. These may not be to your taste, but I’m going to talk about three anime series that I think are generally enjoyable to watch. My recent anime recommendations!
One of my all-time favorite Japanese movies is “Be with you” or [いま、会いにゆきます] (ima ai ni yukimasu) in Japanese. It’s a heartwarming love story that came out in 2004 and, unfortunately, isn’t widely recognized outside of Japan, China, and Korea. In my opinion, it’s a hidden gem of Japanese cinema that’s definitely worth watching.
